Meet Marielle!

About Marielle

Marielle started Dogwerks training kennel in Rock Creek, Montana, in 1992, after years of training and competing with Rottweilers, in obedience and Schutzhund competitions. She offers group training classes, in-home lessons, and boarding with training at her state-of-the-art facility. Throughout her career with dogs, Marielle has trained in a wide variety of disciplines from obedience and protection training, to tracking, search and rescue, and police work. Marielle has also trained dogs for duck hunting and weight pulling.

She has had some wonderful opportunities working for the US Geological Survey training dog handler teams for brown tree snake detection in Guam and the opportunity to work with local people in Bangladesh, training street dogs in tiger detection and deterrence. Marielle's approach to training is to understand and respect who dogs are and to use that knowledge to communicate clearly with them. Marielle sticks to solid guiding principles in her training, while remaining responsive to the individual needs of each dog. Marielle strives to maximize the potential of each dog while helping them to become confident, responsive partners.
